My baby sleeps through the night now...mostly. Once in a while she wakes up, but usually she'll sleep until 7:30 or 8:00. Bed time isn't the problem, nap time is. Every day I put her down for a nap around ten, she goes to bed happily, but by 10:25 she is screaming. Same with her afternoon nap. What do I do? She is tired and cranky, but she screams until I go and get her up. At seven months, she still needs to nap! She did it again today. After 45 minutes of crying, I went and picked her up. She
instantly stopped crying and was quite the happy little girl. I feel so awful if I let my baby cry, yet I also think she needs her sleep. Sigh...Any suggestions/advice?
I'd say let her cry, but then again I'm the first one to go and pick her up....so perhaps I'm not the best one to give advice...
ReplyDeleteOh that's a tough one. I too could never handle the cry it out method. I could hear my heart breaking.
ReplyDeletePerhaps try putting her down for her nap a little later in the day. Sophia switched to one nap a day quite early on. Once she did that she would have solid naps. I would say she was Elysia's age when she switched to one nap. I remember being super jealous hearing all the other moms talk about two big naps a day, LOL!
I've tried giving her one nap a day, mostly because she refuses to nap in the afternoon. She really is cranky though! Her eyes get all red and tired looking. I think she believes she is going to miss something if she goes to sleep! She is so curious and looking around all the time.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least she goes to bed at 7:00. I love my little girl, but I also love my evenings when I can relax. :)
